Landfall City Districts and Notable Locations


Landfall City Districts
Barracks - Fighter guilds and mercenary groups of various sizes are based here.
Black Lane – Black Lane is one of several shantytowns on the edges of Landfall
Bloodcourt – Many artisans and employees of merchant houses reside here.
Breach, Upper/Lower – The majority of the city’s wealthy live in the Lower Breach. The Upper Breach is home to the majority of the city’s Freemen. The Breach and the Gold District are the safest places within this dangerous city.
Burnt Beggar – Burnt Beggar is one of several shantytowns on the edges of Landfall
Devil Grove – Devil Grove is one of several shantytowns on the edges of Landfall
Gambleton – Gambleton is the red-light district of an already seedy city.
Gold District - Gold District is the center of thieves guild and criminal cartel activities. Affluent merchant houses involved in high level criminal activities are based here.
Hog Pits – Hog Pits is one of several shantytowns on the edges of Landfall
Needmore – Needmore is a mix low end merchants towards the city center and shanty dwellings towards city edge.
North River – North River is one of several shantytowns on the edges of Landfall
Old Docks – The exclusive realm of the thieves guild.
Rockton – Larger merchant and trading houses are based here
Sailor Savage – Many artisans and employees of merchant houses reside here.
South Docks – Smaller merchant and trading houses are based here.
Templeton – Templeton is the temple district and has some wealthy merchants like in the Gold District
The Manors – The Manors contain dozens of complexes that use peasants and indentured servants for manufacturing.
The Reach – The Reach is one of many shantytowns on the edges of Landfall

Landfall City Notable Locations
Dukes Castle - This walled complex with a fortified four story main building and several other building served as the Duke's residence and seat of the Duchy's government.
Outer Bazaar - This so-called free market is heavily taxed by the Thieves Guild
Marx Circus - This market is operated directly by the Thieves Guild.
Cavalry Field - Martial practice grounds. Mercenaries are often hired here.

Mass Combat

Rules Modification:
     1. Leadership factor = level + (average of wis + int + cha)
     2. Experience Factor = (average hp/4.5 x 10) + (Lvl or HD x 10) + (Magic Lvl x10)
     3. Equipment factor = (average damage x 5) + ((11-ac) x 5)
     4. Mounts add HP and average AC with rider
     5. BFR = Leadership factor + Experience Factor + Equipment factor
     6. If BFR is over 125 take the square root of the value over 125 and add it to 125 to get the final BFR.
      Example BFR = 150. 150-125=25. square root of 25 is 5. Final BFR is 125 + 5 = 130

The Battle of Elephants and Assassins


The Landfall forces of Archduke Lernal and the Thieves Guild were defeated in open battle just a few miles outside of the city by a combined army fielded by the Lords of Norwold. The hard fought battle ended with the Landfall army mostly routed and a few elite units surrendering. The Archduke and Baroness Bulga were killed during the battle. 

On the left flank, Lords Rolf and Veliko led their horse archers and Mythas Heavy infantry to a grinding victory over the superior numbers of the Landfall militia. In the center, Lord Koract and Master Kaga skillfully led a combined human/dwarven force against elite adventurers to a bloody stalemate. On the right flank, Lord Tull led a 1,000 heavy cavalry impetuous charge into Nomad Elephants and killed almost half of the Elephants on the initial charge. In the end, the entire Landfall force either routed or surrendered.

Lord Veliko Declares for Unseen Forest and New Keep in Woodhaven


In a completely unexpected turn of events, Lord Veliko Yantra of Woodhaven has declared his membership in The Order of the Unseen Forest. As an auxiliary to The Order of the Holy Blade, The Order of the Unseen Forest has a long history of providing outriders and scouts for The Excoriation. Veliko's declaration is another shift in the balance of power in Norwold and it appears the Excoriation is now significantly stronger than the Castrametation on the continent.


Moondawn Keep was recently completed in the Barony of Woodhaven. Although more modest in size than the keeps in Deliverance and Chastity, Moondawn keep is well suited for Baron Yantra's manner of governing the Barony. The Baron prefers to spend most of his time in the scattered villages among the people of his realm rather than at the seat of the government. When manners of state require, Lord Veliko can be expected attending to business in the hall of Moondawn Keep.
